How To Use A Torque Wrench?

Date:2022-03-11

1. A torque wrench is a tightening tool. It is a very sensitive and precise tightening tool and should never be used to loosen bolts.

2. Handle the torque wrench with the same care as a measuring instrument! The tool should always be stored in its storage case and protected from any shocks.

3. At the end of each day or when not in use, reset the torque wrench to the lowest value to release the string pressure.

Move fluidly and continuously with only one hand. Most torque wrenches have markings on the handle to indicate where to apply pressure.

4 Do not use extensions on the handle. This will affect the correct signal of the setpoint.

A torque wrench can prevent but don't avoid over-tightening! When the desired torque is reached, the wrench's torque control system "fires" and the operator hears a clear click. If you hear a "click" without moving the wrench at first, it means the app is overtightened. A good practice here is to start over: first, loosen the bolts, tighten with a suitable tool, and finish with a torque wrench at the end to achieve the correct and safe torque.

5. Tool maintenance: As a high-precision tool, the torque wrench needs to be recalibrated regularly, which is the responsibility of the tool user.
